The VLOOKUP is a built-in function of Excel which performs the vertical lookup by searching a specific value of a column in another column. The syntax of VLOOKUP function is VLOOKUP( lookupvalue, tablearray, colindexnumber, rangelookup ).
Nice, just working on an enterprise DNS project that this will help tremendously with vs export domain resource records and parsing them.I am however getting an Compiler Error- Variable Not Defined for ipLookup in the NSLookup function. On my test sheet, that is failing, however the PingResult is working and shows that device online.Using Excel 2016 with Scripting and Hosting addons enabled.Added ipLookup as a String, and now same error for cmdStr.Of course might be me, I just inserted 2 modules and pasted each of the sections into a mod.
I'm working with a decent sized spreadsheet of domains and server names. Another user of the spreadsheet needs the IP address for each of the DNS entries on the worksheet. Instead of manually adding and then having to maintain this list, is there an easy way to do an IPAddress lookup to display the IP address in a cell?I've seen some VBScripts that call GetHostByName, e.g. Declare Function GetHostByName Lib 'wsock32.dll' Alias 'gethostbyname' (ByVal Host As String) As LongHowever I'm not a VB expert so I'm not sure if this is the right way to go.
